A preschool introductory class for young dancers that incorporates basic ballet, tumbling, and gross motor skills development.
A preschool introductory class for young dancers who wish to learn the basic and beginning fundamentals of Ballet and Tap. Children will learn basic ballet and tap warm up stretching techniques, proper placement of legs, feet, and arms, the names and meanings of basic steps and beginning choreography.
An elementary introductory class for young dancers who wish to learn the basic to intermediate fundamentals of Ballet, Tap, and Jazz. This hour and a half class will divide each style of dance into 30 minute segments.
The foundation of all styles of dance. Students will learn the use of technical vocabulary of steps, leaps, jumps and poses to bring a story or themed atmosphere to class. Dancers will work at the barre, center floor, and across the floor.
A prerequisite class for young dancers who dream of being en Pointe. This class will focus on building the strength needed to execute Pointe.
This class is only available to dancers who have successfully mastered the necessary level of ballet and have been approved by Ms. Tatyana. Pointe is a 60 minute class that runs similar to a ballet class and the difference being wearing pointe shoes as opposed to ballet shoes. Thrive Performing Arts Center emphasizes the importance of making decisions that ensures the dancers future health. There are several factors that will be taken into consideration before permission will be given. These considerations include ankle and foot bone structure, stage of growth, and strength.
A stylized and technical form of dance that focuses on precision, strength, placement, and flexibility to complement the use of rhythmic music.
A combination class that incorporates stylized jazz movement with Hip Hop. Dancers will learn proper stretching technique, progressions across the floor, choreography and performance.
Drill Team Prep
A class focusing on drill team knowledge and skills necessary to make and stay on the team.
An expressive art form that allows the dancers to bring freely the use of expression, creativity, and emotion into their movement.
A structured form of street dance that focuses on upbeat movement while incorporating popular music with coordination, precision, agility, and endurance.
The study of Broadway Dance. Dancers will learn choreography to songs from musicals such as Hairspray, High School Musical, Fosse, and Annie. They will also incorporate acting and character development in dance.
An art form designed to develop rhythm, style, and sound. Tap focuses on developing flexibility of the knee and ankles while incorporating coordination and speed of movement.
Technique also called Turn/Jumps/Conditioning
This class allows dancers to grow while pushing and striving to gain knowledge and body awareness in the art of turning and leaping. This important class focuses on perfecting the most basic turns and leaps and practicing the most advanced as well. Each dancer will grow at their own pace and new repertoire will be added as the student progresses.
